Bear Necessities

I am afforded the luxury of a deck surrounded by forests and mountains to sit, drink my coffee and listen to the birds as I’m waking up. Today I had the rare treat of a bear sighting. I’ve run into bears a few times while hiking but have seen them more often from my deck. We are careful not to leave food scraps, seeds or garbage out to attract them but we do have patches of blackberries and a telephone pole they love to use a scratching post. We had one to come visit this morning. Here are a few photos.
