Craig Burkhalter was born in the mid 1950s in Macon, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1979 and earned his MFA from Georgia Southern University in 2002. He taught high school for most of his career and finished on the university level at Middle Georgia State University. He was the chairman of the Contemporary Arts Exchange / Macon for 25 years and has been a prolific printmaker and exhibitor since 1980. He now lives in the Appalachian Mountains growing food, hiking and making prints. His work consists of etchings, relief prints, letterpress and drawing. His themes range from personal narratives to landscapes and political / social issues.
